Hi, I’m Margaret! (she/her)

Finding a new therapist can be daunting. Vibes matter!
I know it can be hard to find a therapist you connect with. The therapeutic relationship is important! My job is to create a space where you feel safe to explore your inner world and help you decide what you want your life to look like.
My approach is grounded in authenticity with an emphasis on understanding, compassion, and respect. I incorporate elements of narrative therapy, reality therapy, and attachment theory and combine this with humor, mindfulness, and good old-fashioned listening.
I am sex-positive and open to working with people from all different backgrounds, walks of life, and ways of being.
I love working with generational curse breakers as well as people who are navigating their identity and are ready to question the old stories they’ve been living by. I also enjoy working with existential issues, grief & loss, and interpersonal relationships including couples counseling to improve communication and relationship satisfaction.
I care about whole-body wellness, and talk therapy is just one of the many tools available. I offer support to clients looking to integrate psychedelic experiences, and while I am not currently a ketamine therapist, it is a path I am pursuing.
Therapy can be like cleaning out a closet. Sometimes, just opening the door can feel overwhelming. We’ll take it one step at a time and sort through what’s inside. We’ll decide what to keep and what can be let go. Of the things you want to release, how do you want to say goodbye? Of the things you want to keep, do they go back where they were, or will they be transformed somehow?
Ideally, over time, we’ll get to a point where looking at the closet feels okay. You don’t need to have it all figured out, you just need to be willing to show up.
On a personal note…
I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI and moved to Austin in 2014 to escape the cold. When I’m not being a therapist, I like to read, listen to CDs, and hang out with my two cats. Although I love live music, I enjoy melting into my couch just as much. I also love just about any form of being on, in, or around water, and my creative outlet is making pottery. I am passionate about women’s health and acknowledge that we have different needs because we aren't just smaller men. I also champion literacy and volunteer as a reading tutor with North Texas Reading Partners. Currently, I’m working on meditating more and always think of this Onion article when I recommend it to anyone.
